Its that time again!!!  We need all our current competitive coaches to register thru affinity for the 2018/2019 season.  The Link is below. This is in addition to getting a Sport Engine Account. The Sport Engine account will allow you to edit your team page and use the communication tools that the platform provides.

Required by Utah State Law.  Save the certificate of completion on your computer so you can upload into the affinity system. UYSA requires this certificate be uploaded to activate your team.


What Coaching License do I need?

Youth Development League (Academy Program)

Youth Development League (Old Academy League) 

You need to take the Grassroots Introductory Online Class and The online 4v4 Grassroots class.  Access those classes Here.

X-League and State Leagues

U9 and Older Age Groups

One roster only
Grassroots (7v7 or 9v9) and 11v11 in person education classes.

Two or more rosters U13 and older
'D' or 'D' Waiver.  No matter what role you are serving, coach or asst coach if you are on two or more U13 and older rosters you must have a 'D' or 'D' Waiver.  U9 thru U12 requires only the Grassroots license, regardless of the number of rosters you are on in those age groups.

SWAT Coaches... This is how you sign up for the Classes in Ogden. Please share with your assistant coaches

 

Thank you for agreeing to be an SWAT  Coach.  Below you will find the steps necessary to register for your Coaching License.  This Grassroots 7/11 course is intended for the Head Coach & Asst Coaches of any U8-U19 team.  This is a PASS/FAIL course. You will need to complete the entire course to PASS with a Grassroots License, which means attending both days, for the entire time & completing the online requirements listed below.

If you are coaching a U7 team, you are welcome to register for this course, so you are ready for next year when your team is older.

Specific questions about the course or registration, please contact Jenni at  jbreckenridge@utahyouthsoccer.net. She’s the 'know it all' of Coaching Education and has access that I don’t to problem solve and answer those type of questions.

Login or Create an Account - see tutorial below if you have issues

Click on “Courses” - “Available Courses”

Click on Grassroots Courses - Click on In-Person 

You will then need o register for both the 7v7 and 11v11 courses.  Each Cost $25.

Click on 7v7 Course - Find the L30 hosted 7v7 July 16th class and click on “Course Details.”  On the right hand side, Click on “Join Waitlist”

Click on 11v11 Course - Find the L30 hosted 11v11 July 30th class and click on “Course Details.”  On the right hand side, Click on “Join Waitlist”

Step 3: Complete FREE Introduction to Grassroots Coaching - 20 min 

In the Digital Coaching Center, Click on “Introduction” and proceed through this short 20 min presentation

Step 4:  Email accepting you off the Waitlist

You will receive an email from Jenni Breckenridge accepting you off the waitlist, you will then be able to log back into the DCC to complete registration and make payment ($25 per course) for both courses. ** If you do not receive an email please check back in the DCC to see if you have been accepted off the waitlist. If it has been more then 48 hours please email Jenni at jbreckenridge@utahyouthsoccer.net with your name and the course name.

Step 5: Pre-Course Work Assignments

Once DCC registered, you will have an assignments tab, Some assignments need to be completed before the in person course starts. Note that the Player Safety Module must be complete twice. Once in the 7v7 course and again in the 11v11 course, I know. Pain, but you will be well versed on concussion management in the end. :)

The 7v7 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer's Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, candidates will learn more about U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 9-10. The course will also ask each candidate to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth.

 

Course Details:

The 11v11 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer's Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, candidates will learn more about U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 13 and older. The course will also ask each candidate to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth.

Schedule:

 Date: July 16, 2018 (7v7) & July 30, 2018 (11v11)

 Time: 6-10pm

 Location: Spence Eccles Ogden Community Center; 1950 Monroe, Ogden, UT 84403
